How was your application process at SOMIC?
Unique! I wrote my thesis at SOMIC and at the end I had two offers from different departments. So you could say that SOMIC applied to me.
Why did you choose this job and how does your typical workday look like?
First and foremost, I decided I wanted to do something that fits both my education and me. At the same time, I was shown prospects that, in retrospect, have now come true. What I particularly appreciate about my job is that there is no typical workday. While I regularly deal with topics related to our ERP system, company processes, and various projects, the daily new challenges, inquiries, and changing requirements make the work diverse and exciting. This ensures that every working day is interesting and dynamic.
What do you like most about your job?
One of the most exciting aspects of my work is solving demanding tasks that either directly help my colleagues or make work easier for the entire company. Through this, I make a direct contribution to the continuous development of the company. These improvements ensure that we keep evolving and do not stand still.
What are the biggest challenges you face at work?
Quite a few! One of the biggest challenges of my job is connecting the real world with the digital one. This involves identifying the right process and optimally mapping it with available resources. Often the situations are complex and require cross-departmental coordination, which brings a high degree of management competence as well as numerous meetings. Although my job is technically oriented through the use of software, business knowledge and management and organizational skills play an equally important role.
Why is SOMIC a good fit for you?
Our machines are innovative, efficient, and of the highest quality. Although we have already reached a certain size, collegiality and humanity are still highly valued, and it is fun to work here. I can fully identify with that.
